Cambridge City seal two new signings

Lilywhites add to squad

Robbie Nightingale has continued to reshape the Cambridge City squad.

The new Lilywhites manager brought in five players in his first week at the club, and it helped them to their first win in 16 as they beat Merthyr Town 1-0 last weekend.

Matty Stevens and Lewis Freestone have both joined City on month-long loan deals from Peterborough United.

Stevens, 18, is a pacey and direct forward who made the switch to Peterborough in the summer from Barnet, having previously attracted interest from other clubs, including Scottish giants Rangers.

Freestone is a highly-rated left-back who signed a three-year professional contract with the club this summer.

Both players are available for selection ahead of the match at Cinderford on Saturday.

But leaving City is defender Jack Uttridge, who had joined the club in pre-season.
