Cambridge City Supporters' Trust puts their money where their heart is to become first-team shirt sponsors
Cambridge City Supporters’ Trust has become the home shirt sponsors of the first team for the 2019/20 season.
The trust was played a key role in the Lilywhites since being formed in 2006, becoming the vehicle by which new supporters took over the running of the club in conjunction with club chairman Kevin Satchell.
They continue to have a representative on the board as the second largest shareholder, make regular donations to support the running of the club and will now have their logo on the front of the home shirts.
“The trust is the voice of the ordinary fan and a champion for the local community,” said supporters’ trust chairman Steve Plumb.
“We are only as strong as our membership and our volunteer base – and we are keen to expand both.”
Satchell added: “I am delighted to have the supporters trust as our shirt sponsors for this season.
“They are a major part of the club and have supported the club in so many ways in recent years.
“It’s great to see their logo on the shirts, and with so many of our supporters being members of the trust I am sure they will take the opportunity to purchase the replica shirts when they are available.”
Exciting times are ahead for fans of the Lilywhites as the club prepare to re-locate to a brand-new stadium in Sawston.
The 3,000-capacity stadium will boast a grass main pitch and a 3G artificial pitch available for external hire. The stadium will have various function rooms that will be available to hire making it the ideal venue for conferences, seminars, weddings and celebrations.
