Cambridge City’s run of victories was brought to an end as they lost 3-2 to Brentwood in BetVictor Isthmian League, North Division.

An error from City keeper Lewis Landers gave Andy Freeman to give Brentwood the lead from distance after eight minutes.

City equalised after 24 minutes through a fine effort from Sam Bantick.

Conor Hogan pounced on indecision in the City box to give Brentwood a 2-1 lead at half time.

Jason Williams produced a fantastic finish to give Brentwood a 3-1 lead after 71st minute, with Ryan Sharman heading in a late consolation for the hosts.

City followed it up with a 5-2 defeat at Ware in the Velocity Trophy on Tuesday night.

Former City striker Tobi Adekunle gave Ware the lead after 10 minutes, but the visitors were level just before the break as Arel Amu slotted home.

Liam Hope restored Ware's lead four minutes into the second half, only for Seb Simpson to equalise for City.

Adekunle got his second to put Ware back in front, and Louis Rose made it 4-2.

Tommy Shepherd then netted Ware's fifth.

City are at home on Friday night (October 25) against Needham Market in the Buildbase FA Trophy, first round.
