Cambridge divers clean up at County Senior and Junior Diving Championships
Cambridge Dive Team swept the board at the County Senior and Junior Diving Championships, winning all the titles and setting new record figures in each of the events.
The 14 years and over senior events were walk away wins for Max Burnell and Daisy Halls, with both divers winning three individual titles and the overall trophy.
Halls, building on successes earlier in the year, amassed a total of 524.35 points on 15 dives, while Burnell – returning to competitions after a break – showed he is approaching full form again with 530.65 on 18 dives.
The junior events were more closely contested, yet Rufus Bord was still able to claim three individual titles, followed by Dominic Williams (silver) and Ben Matthams (bronze).
In the girls’ section Amelia Aldridge and Tobi Fayomi battled it out in all three events, with never more than a few points between them.
Aldridge came out on top in the 1 metre and final platform competition while Fayomi turned the tables to clinch the 3 metre top prize.
