Cambridge & Coleridge trio earn medal delight at England Athletics Under-20/Under-23 Championships

Success for Julia Paternain, Thomas Keen and Adelaide Omitowoju in Bedford

A trio of Cambridge & Coleridge Athletic Club members were on the medal rostrum at the England Athletics Under-20/Under-23 Championships in Bedford.

Julia Paternain was in action in the under-20 women’s 3,000m and ran a personal best 9min 28.30sec to win the silver medal. Amelia Quirk won gold in 9.22.54.

Thomas Keen won a silver medal in the under-20 men’s 1,500m.

He clocked 3.59.30 to qualify in second place in heat one.

In the final, he ran 3.55.59 for second place, as Jake Heyward won in 3.54.05.

In the under-20 women’s triple jump, Adelaide Omitowoju clinched a bronze medal.

She leapt out to a personal best 12.53m, the same distance as silver medallist Jazz Sears. Abazz Shayaam-Smith won gold with 12.68.
