Cambridge Granta suffer defeat to Sudbury

Table-toppers prove too strong

Cambridge Granta were unable to stop Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League title-chasers Sudbury.

Ben Claydon had a go as he took four for 56, and with three for 26 from Chris Pepper, Sudbury were bowled out for 242.

However, Granta were unable to match the scoring of Tom Huggins (84) and Tim Johnston (58).

Their top run-maker was Michael Pepper with 39, closely followed by Chris Benjamin (36), as they were bowled out for 193 in a 49-run defeat.

Granta complete their season away to Great Witchingham this Saturday (September 15).
