Cambridge Rugby Club have announced a partnership with Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital.

The collaboration will allow Cambridge players to have access to additional medical care, including imaging and scans, in order to improve off-field support for players.

Nuffield Health will feature on the perimeter boards at Volac Park, in the matchday programme and across social media channels, together with plans to sponsor the team’s physiotherapy professionals.

“We are incredibly proud to be linking with such a prominent Cambridge club, which also retains the special role of community at its heart,” said Sophie Hudson, sales and services manager at Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital”

Cambridge director of rugby Richie Williams said: “We are pleased to announce an exciting partnership with Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital.

“Player welfare continues to be a priority for us as a club, being a semi-professional player presents a number of challenges, including balancing a career off the pitch with playing national league rugby. This partnership will allow the players more flexibility to access a nationally recognised organisation to support them with injury diagnosis and treatment.

“Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital will work closely with our physio team as we look to increase our off-field support.”

Cambridge chairman Rob Dean said: “I am very pleased to have been able to form this partnership, particularly as it continues to grow our relationships with local business.

“Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital will bring a wide range of expertise that all our club members can benefit from. We look forward to working with Sophie and her top team.”
