Youngsters Dan Brough and Tom Hoppe have made the move to Cambridge Rugby Club.

The duo will add to the options in the backs, and take the number of new recruits to six.

Brough, 20, has spent two years in Portugal, playing in the top division for Portugal, and has also represented Hungary in sevens and XV’s rugby.

Hoppe, 23, was developed through the Dragons academy, and has played in the Welsh Premiership with Newport, Bedwas and Cardiff. He was included in the Wales squad for the Under-20 Six Nations in 2019 and represented the country at the World Rugby Junior Championship.

Cambridge director of rugby Richie Williams said: “I first came across Dan as a 17-year old playing club rugby.

“I have followed his recent progress and believe that he has the athletic capacity to become a very good player in our environment. He has a real appetite to learn and I look forward to supporting him on his journey.

“Dan will also be one of the club's community coaches as we look to build on the fantastic outreach that has gone on over the past 12 months.

“I am excited to watch Tom pull on the Cambridge shirt this season. He is an exciting young player who will add quality to our back line. He already has a wealth of experience and his physical attributes will complement both our defence and attack.

“I must say a huge thank you to Price Bailey, one of our key corporate partners; who Tom will begin working with in August. It once again demonstrates the strong relationships we place on supporting players on and off the field.”
