Cambridge Baseball Club’s junior teams pit themselves against London Mets
Cambridge Baseball Club’s Under-14 Atom Smashers took both games during their latest clash against the London Mets.
The first encounter, which finished 8-5, marked a debut appearance for the team for Henry Mulligan. And he marked the occasion by going two innings and striking out four, with Tommy Brown coming in to close out the game alongside Oscar McIver-Winch knocking in two runs during the second innings.
Meanwhile, the second game was a closely-fought affair that finished 12-11 in Cambridge’s favour.
Jereme Brown caught the eye with some impressive defensive plays, which was accompanied by big hits from Gabriel Odom, Mark Spendlove and Talha Bin Qasim.
Elsewhere, Cambridge’s Under-12 Atom Smashers split their two contests with the London Mets.
The Mets’ superior pitching guided them to a 11-4 victory in the first match, only for Cambridge to respond next time out via a 6-2 success.
Sebastian Bella was the star turn for Cambridge, throwing a six-inning complete game with 14 strikeouts and three hits, including a home run and double.
Elsewhere, Cambridge Under-10 Griffins dropped both of their games against London Mets.
