Cambridge Baseball Club teams make British Baseball Federation Super League debuts in Finsbury Park against London Mets

Three teams from Cambridge Baseball Club made their debuts in the British Baseball Federation Super League earlier this month.

The Cambridge trio were all in action in Finsbury Park, where they locked horns with the London Mets.

Cambridge Griffins – the club’s Under-10 side – dropped two hard fought games, led by some impressive play by Patrick Dempsey and Seren Martin-Kucab.

Meanwhile, the Under-12 Atom Smashers tied their first game against the Mets, and narrowly fell short in the second contest.

The team was led by the solid pitching of JP Murdoch and Henry Zemke, while the defence was spearheaded by Cornelius Weld, Jan Creixell, and Teddy Thorne.

And the Under-14 Atom Smashers split their two encounters with the home side.

The combination of Addison Brown and Cygnus Cheung set the tone for their team-mates with some positive pitching, which was bolstered by the defence of Vito Orlando and Jeffrey Murdoch.

The Cambridge Griffins and Under-14 Atom Smashers will return to action on Saturday morning (17 May) when they travel across the border to Hemel Hempstead to take on their Herts Baseball Club counterparts.
