Wes Hoolahan is in contention for the Sky Bet League Two player-of-the-month award.

The 38-year-old midfielder won the prize in January, and is again on a shortlist of four.

During March, he played in all four of Cambridge United's wins including netting an intricate goal in the 1-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers at the Abbey Stadium, and setting up Adam May's last-minute winner in the 2-1 success at Carlisle United.

The only two games he missed in the month ended in defeat.

Hoolahan's competition for the award comes from Alex Baptiste, Patrick Brough and Matt Jay.

Bolton Wanderers defender Baptiste has used his calm head and reading of the game to help his side climb the table, during which time they have conceded just three goals in six games.

Barrow's Brough was converted from centre-back to left wing-back and has been galloping up and down the pitch to telling effect. He scored both goals in their win over Mansfield, and starred in the victory over Cheltenham, including making a clearance off his own line.

Exeter City midfielder Jay has scored five goals and made one assist this month.

The fulcrum of his side's attacking play, he got a hat-trick against Leyton Orient and hit a stunning free kick against Scunthorpe.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
