Cambridge United's winning run is brought to an end at Accrington Stanley
And Ade Azeez goes out on loan
Cambridge United’s four-match unbeaten run in Sky Bet League Two was brought to an end at Accrington Stanley last Saturday.
The U’s had won three in a row since Joe Dunne took over as interim head coach.
United had the better of the first-half chances, with Liam O’Neil’s seventh-minute header hitting the bar and Jevani Brown being denied by the hosts’ keeper.
But Accrington are the form side in the division and Kayden Jackson’s 57th-minute goal earned the three points to take them up to second in the table.
Meanwhile, Ade Azeez has joined Dover Athletic on a month’s loan.
The 24-year-old striker, who joined the U’s last summer on a two-year deal, made his debut for the National League side in their 3-1 defeat at Fylde last Saturday.
Cambridge United head of football Ben Strang said: “Ade hasn’t had much playing time of late and this loan move helps him gain crucial match fitness.
“Ade is still very much a highly-valued member of the squad, who has a positive future ahead at the club.”
