Cambridge United sign Spurs defender on loan

Jubril Okedina has joined Cambridge United on loan until the end of the 2020/21 season.

The 20-year-old Tottenham Hotspur defender, who can play at right-back or centre-back, will provide further cover for the U’s.

He is captain of Spurs' under-23 team, featuring 11 times in Premier League 2 this season, scoring three goals.

Okedina has been with the North London club since under-16 level, progressing through the under-18s and into the under-23 side last season.

United head coach Mark Bonner said: “We are pleased to add Jubril to our squad for the second half of the season and look forward to overseeing this period of his development.

“This will be a good experience for Jubril as it's his first senior loan and he offers us good competition and cover in the defensive unit.

“Jubril is motivated to push for a place in the team and his attitude, defensive qualities and athleticism make him a good addition.”

Okedina will wear United’s number 15 shirt.
