Cambridge United to host Norwich City during pre-season

Canaries are winging in for U's friendly

Cambridge United have announced their first pre-season fixture for the summer.

The dust has still not settled on the Sky Bet League Two campaign, with the play-off final taking place between Exeter City and Blackpool this weekend, but the U’s are wasting no time looking to the new season.

Sky Bet Championship side Norwich City will be the visitors to the Cambs Glass Stadium on Saturday, July 15 at 2pm.

The fixture will take a similar format to the pre-season game between the sides in 2015, which means an extra 30 minutes and the contest being split into four quarters.

The idea for the extended match is to give United manager Shaun Derry and his Canaries’ counterpart the chance to give their first-team squads a full competitive run out.

The match will also see the U’s unveil their new away kit for the 2017/18 season for the first time.

Further information regarding ticket details will be released in due course.
