Alex Jones, David Amoo and George Maris were on target for Cambridge United as they earned a 3-0 win over promotion-chasing Bury in Sky Bet League Two on Tuesday night.

The U’s found the perfect way to bounce back from a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Colchester United at the Abbey Stadium last Saturday, when the only goal came in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

In the North West, Jones got the ball rolling after a scramble in the area in the 16th minute.

They doubled their lead in the 34th minute as David Amoo raced on to a Jevani Brown flick to finish. Maris fired in United’s third in the 72nd minute.

The win lifts United nine points clear of the relegation places with six games remaining.

United are back on the road this Saturday (April 6) when they travel to Mansfield Town.
