Cambridge University Boat Club president Lance Tredell selected for Great Britain
Light Blues oarsman named in eight for Rowing World Cup
Lance Tredell has been named in the Great Britain squad for the first Rowing World Cup of the season.
The Cambridge University Boat Club president has been selected alongside fellow old Blues Tom Ransley, who won Olympic gold in Rio, and cox Henry Fieldman in the men’s eight squad for the event in Belgrade from May 5 to 7.
British Rowing performance director Sir David Tanner said: “The first world cup of the season is a great place to test the water at the start of the new Olympiad. While we know there is still work to do in all areas of the team, I’m excited about the significant new talent that will be on show in Belgrade.
“The event offers us the opportunity to stake our claim at the earliest opportunity in the new Olympic cycle, as well as a chance to review and experiment with the new crews at our disposal.”
