Cambridge University have the perfect 10 back to face Oxford

Skipper names side for Women's Varsity Match

Alice Middleton will lead Cambridge University into the Women’s Varsity Match battle with nine other returning Blues next Thursday (December 8).

The captain will be out to repeat her player-of-the-match exploits of 12 months ago, when she helped run Oxford ragged in the 52-0 win.

The squad has been enhanced by 12 newcomers as the Light Blues head to Twickenham after a competitive season in the BUCS Premier South division.

Cambridge University: Alice Middleton* (Lucy Cavendish); Laura Suggitt (St Edmund’s), Mary Coleman (King’s), Jessica Charlton* (Newnham), Lara Gibson* (Lucy Cavendish); Kate Merks (Murray Edwards), Lydie Thorn* (Corpus Christi); Alice Elgar* (Girton), Emma Pierce (St Catharine’s), Laura Nunez-Mulder* (Emmanuel), Nikki Weckman* (Trinity), Livvy Probert (Downing), Molly Byrne* (Newnham), Chloe Withers* (Fitzwilliam), Emily Pratt (Emmanuel).

Replacements: Katerina Sanchez-Schilling (St Edmund’s), Gabriella Johansson (Churchill), Jacqueline Bramley (Girton), Tabitha Burgess (Fitzwilliam), Sophie Farrant* (Emmanuel), Sophie Evans (Gonville & Caius), Katherine Monks (Homerton). *denotes Blue.

The 30th Women’s Varsity Match and the 135th Men’s match against Oxford and Cambridge will return to Twickenham on Thursday, December 8, with tickets on sale now.

Two for one adult tickets are now available online on all £28 ticket categories.
