Cambridgeshire Cats have progressed to the British American Football Association Division One, semi-final play-offs.
Having won the SFC1 East Division Championship, they set up a quarter-finals clash with Wembley Stallions on Coldham’s Common last Sunday.
In a tight match for the first three quarters, there was only one Cats touchdown in the first half, giving them a 7-0 lead heading into the break.
The Stallions fought back to rally in the third quarter to stay within one score until the fourth quarter.

But the Cats pounced on some costly errors which led to three interceptions on the day for safety, Mikey McLaughlin (44) and an interception return touchdown for cornerback, Maleek Addae (87).
After a slow start, the Cats’ offense started to fire late in the game, capped off by a 91-yard touchdown on a short pass from Mark Rivett (6) to Michael Johnson (4).

Wide receiver Johnson finished the day with six catches for 206 yards and two touchdowns as the Cats beat the Stallions 35-14.
They travel to Hertfordshire Cheetahs for the semi-final this Sunday (August 21).
