The men’s 6ths won 4-2 with Will Earl bagging a hat-trick and Nigel Gadsby marking his return to the sport after injury with a penalty corner goal.

The women’s 2nds lost 3-2 away to Harlston Magpies 2nds which drops them down the table but they are still in with a slim chance of challenging for the title.

The women’s 4ths drew 1-1 at home to St Neots. Essi Harbord seized on a loose ball near the goalmouth to give Cambridge the lead. Great hockey could not produce a second and from the start of the second half St Neots stole the ball off Cambridge and scored a spectacular reverse stick finish to make it 1-1. Cambridge kept up the pressure but could not get the goal.

The women’s 5ths lost 2-0 away to St Ives. A good team performance should have produced a draw but St Ives took two late chances to secure the points.

The women’s 6ths lost 2-1 at home to Wisbech Town 2nds in a frustrating game given the domination they showed.

The women’s 7ths won 4-0 at home to St Ives 3rds to remain top of the table. Natasha Blatcher scored the pick of the bunch, rounding the keeper and roofing the ball into the net on her backhand.

On Sunday the women’s 2nds beat the women’s 3rds 1-0 in a league match. An extremely even affair saw chances created at both ends. It fell to Emily Clapham to make the difference as she nudged the ball over the line following a swift transfer from left wing, to right wing and then back to the left post.
