Dan Brown double secures Histon victory over Dereham Town in BetVictor Isthmian League, North Division
Histon secured their first home win since promotion to the BetVictor Isthmian League, North Division with a 4-1 success over Dereham Town on Tuesday night.
They made the ideal start as Ed Rolph gave them the lead in the 14th minute after good work from Danny Gould.
Histon doubled their lead in the 25th minute as Matthew Castellan conceded a penalty, earning a red card, and Max York tucked away the spot kick.
The hosts made it 3-0 after 55 minutes when Dan Brown hooked home at the back post.
Dereham pulled a goal back after 62 minutes, and Stutes keeper Sam Roach then saved a penalty from the visitors.
Brown got his second in the 68th minute, lobbing the advancing keeper.
On Saturday, Rolph scored for Histon, but they suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Witham Town.
