Meldreth diver gets call-up for Glasgow2018

Dan Goodfellow has been named in the Great Britain squad for the European Diving Championships in Scotland.

The 21-year-old Meldreth-based diver has been named in a 15-strong squad to take part in the event at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh, as part of Glasgow2018, from August 7 to 11.

But Goodfellow will be without usual 10m platform synchro partner Tom Daley, who is sitting out the rest of the season to prepare for having a baby.

Alexei Evangulov, diving national performance director, said: “We have already seen some excellent performances by our divers in 2018 across the FINA Diving World Cup, Commonwealth Games and Diving World Series.

“We have established members of the team, with younger divers who have the chance to make their mark.”
