It was another difficult weekend for Cambridge and Burwell & Exning in the Read Brothers Ltd East Anglian Premier League.

For Cambridge, it was a case of history repeating itself when they faced Vauxhall Mallards.

The previous weekend in the National Club Championship, they had got themselves into a winning position only for a batting collapse to see them knocked out and their fortunes were similar back in the league.

Peter Younghusband took four for 12 and Zaman Akhter claimed three for 20 as they bowled out Mallards for 69.

But only Alex Sears (26) and Daminda Ranaweera (14) got into double figures as they were bowled out for 63.

Burwell & Exning suffered a 97-run defeat at Mildenhall.

Matt Allen (51) and Tom Rash (49) guided Mildenhall to 225 for 9, with Andrew Bramley the leading
wicket-taker with four for 39.

Tom Jagot got to work on the bowlers with 44 but was the fourth wicket to fall and without significant knocks elsewhere, Burwell & Exning were bowled out for 128.

Ankit Sharma finished with five for 48.

Burwell & Exning are currently second from bottom in the table, two places below Cambridge, but 36 points clear of Vauxhall Mallards, who prop up the division.
