Doubles delight for Shelford in win over Huntingdon

By CambridgeIndependent Reporter

Tries shared around in victory

It was double delight for Shelford under-13s as they clinched a 65-5 win over Huntingdon.

In a match played in four quarters, the conditions allowed for running rugby and Shelford were given the challenge of keeping the ball alive.

They quickly settled into their stride as Will Rand and Alex Lee touched down.

A flat pass gave Huntingdon the chance to score, but Shelford regrouped quickly and Samuel Arbon had the space to touch down.

The second quarter led to tries for Tom McFarlane and Joshua Barrett, but it was in the third quarter that Shelford cut loose.

Good work at the breakdown and a number of turnovers earned tries for Barrett, Utku Cihan, Hamish Westbrook, Eoin Collins and a brace for George Shannon.

And in the final quarter, Arbon and Joe Huntley touched down to seal the 65-5 win.
