Dylan Samujh leads Shelford Tigers try scoring at County Cup Festival




Encouraging display from youngsters

Shelford Tigers under-13s earned two wins from four matches at the Cambridgeshire County Cup Festival.

Bryce Holland touched down in their first match, a 5-5 draw with Cambridge Sand.

Dylan Samujh and Sam Doubleday got two tries apiece and Noah Bateman and Billy White got one each in a 30-5 win over Newmarket.

Josh Butler-Burd got the try in a 15-5 loss to Cambridge Blood, while Samujh grabbed a hat-trick and Zach Whieldon got one in a 20-0 win over Saffron Walden.

Shelford Sharks had two draws and two defeats from their four matches.

Avaan Barnett touched down as the Sharks lost 25-5 to Cambridge Blood, and he also scored in the 5-5 draw with Wisbech.

They drew 0-0 with Cambridge Sand, and then lost 10-0 to Ely.

Shelford under-15s won 67-15 against Upminster in a friendly, with Owen Armitage scoring five tries, Billy Haigh getting three, Dan Fraser two and Freddie Spense one. Josh Speechly landed six conversions.
