Eastern Counties roles for Greg Hind and Ian Whitby

Duo take up positions with representative rugby squad

Greg Hind and Ian Whitby have taken on new positions with the Eastern Counties representative rugby squads.

Shelford team manager and director of rugby Hind has become the team manager of Eastern Counties’ first XV and under-20s for the 2018/19 season.

Hind said: “I’m looking forward to working with the best players in the region along with the future of rugby in Eastern Counties and help strive for success on all levels.”

Cambridge’s Whitby has been appointed to manage the re-formed the Wanderers’ XV, the Eastern Counties second team.

“I am really excited and greatly looking forward to be part of the Eastern Counties on this reintroduction of the Eastern Counties Wanderers Senior XV,” said Whitby.

“Having the opportunity to be working with a new coaching and management team and, more importantly, players to improve the player development and give a defined pathway for their aspirations is something which will help strengthen the Eastern Counties Senior Squad in seasons to come.”

Stowmarket’s Suzanne Allen has been appointed the Eastern Counties’ women’s manager.
