Shelford Rugby Club to host third leg of LIT Super Sevens Series at The Davey Field

Shelford Rugby Club will host the third leg of the prestigious LIT Super Sevens Series 2025 next month.

The LIT Super Sevens Series is the largest rugby sevens competition across Europe – and the upcoming event at The Davey Field will feature more than 40 men’s and women’s teams, 28 of which are set to be elite-level sides with international and Premiership experience.

The Shelford leg, which will represent the midpoint of the six-stop national series, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 7 June.

Club president Rory Finlayson said: “This is a chance for the local community to witness world-class sevens up close – and all for free. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or new to rugby, this will be a brilliant day out.”

A full list of competing teams will be announced in due course, but Shogun Rugby and the British Army are expected to feature alongside top-flight women's sides such as Trailfinders Women and Hammerheads.

Gates for the event, which will also include music and food trucks, will open up at 9.30am with matches played across the whole day.
