Students from the College of West Anglia rode to victory at the Inter-College Equine Team competition.

Tate Frost, Victoria Gedny, Maddie Paul and Ella Wilson represented the Cambridge campus at the event at Hadlow College, Kent.

Frost won the preliminary dressage test with 68.65 per cent, four clear of second place, and Gedny won the novice dressage test with 69.58 per cent. Paul and Wilson became the only students from the same team to clear their two showjumping courses penalty free.

An equine quiz was the final part of the day and, as CWA finished second, they were overall winners.

Emma Pewter, programme manager of equine studies at CWA, said: ā€œIā€™m so proud of what the team have achieved and how students from different courses came together to support each other.

ā€œA special mention for the reserve rider, Grace Mallows, who also attended practices, had to learn both dressage tests, was a fantastic support on the day and selected the all-important envelope of drawn horses.ā€
