Histon confirm signings of former player Matty Allan and defender Karl Saffery
Chris Nunn has made two more new additions to his Histon squad – including the return of a familiar face.
Matty Allan is back at Bridge Road for a third stint, having first came through the ranks at the club as part of the scholarship programme.
After making his senior debut for the Stutes during the 2015/16 season, the attacker went on to score 16 goals from 60 appearances, while he also had a brief spell at the club under Lance Key’s management last season.
Allan’s previous clubs include Soham Town Rangers, Wellingborough Town and Godmanchester Rovers.
Also joining the club is defender Karl Saffery, who has become the second arrival this week from Lakenheath following the signing of Luke Young.
The centre-back, who has also been on the books of Bury Town and Walsham-le-Willows, turned out on 28 occasions for the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side last term – scoring one goal.
Boss Nunn wrote on the social networking site X: “Delighted to bring Karl in, a lad who will bring experience and strength to the squad.”
Saffery featured for the first time in Histon colours on Tuesday evening during the 3-1 pre-season friendly defeat to Corby Town. Marcus Cole was on target for Nunn’s men.
