Final challenge awaits Sawston & Babraham in East Anglian Premier League play-off clash with North Runcton
Dan Heath is urging Sawston & Babraham for one more push to reach the East Anglian Premier League.
They earned a 139-run win over Witham Town last Sunday in the play-off semi-final to set-up a clash with Norfolk League winners North Runcton in the final at the Spicers sports ground in Sawston this Saturday (September 21).
“It’s one more step,” said Sawston & Babraham skipper Heath, who saw his side at the semi-final win to their Cambs & Hunts Premier League, Division One title.
“It’s been one step at a time all season, and the cliché is the same – it was win the league, win the semi-final and then if we got into the final, it’s one more push and hopefully we can get to the final goal which is the East Anglian Premier League.
“We’re at home again, and we love playing at home as we think it’s quite a big advantage for us.
“Bring it on. We don’t want to change our game plan at all. We’ve got our way of playing, whether batting or bowling first.”
He added: “Ultimately, we know that if we turn up and perform someone will have to play very well to beat us.”
