Cambridge Dive Team member Florence Tibbatts wins gold medal at White Rose Novice meeting in Leeds
Florence Tibbatts was the star of the show in an impressive collective performance from Cambridge Dive Team at the White Rose Novice competition in Leeds.
Four of the club’s divers made finals across the weekend which yielded a return of two medals.
The headline victory came from Tibbatts, who gained a fifth-placed finish in the Girls Division 1 preliminary with some steady diving.
That was enough for her to qualify for the final of the event and she duly pushed herself up to first place and a gold medal with an impressive back fall from the 3m board.
Meanwhile, in the Boys B+ category, William Tibbatts came sixth in the preliminary round and followed that up by moving up three places to a bronze medal in the final.
The Cambridge club was also represented by Yuting Wang, Yuzu Baxendale and Daisy Maddocks-Hunt in the Girls C1 (12-year-olds) and Girls C2 (13-year-olds) events, while Eva Tsang competed in the C2 category. The Girls E event featured both Karina Baxendale and Sophia Howard.
