Frankie Webb stars for Cambridge Dive team
Club enjoys successful time at East Region Diving Championships
Frankie Webb was the star of the show for Cambridge Dive Team as they started the new season in style at the East Region Diving Club Championships.
On day one of the competition in Southend, she picked up a silver medal in the girls' 1m springboard event, and repeated the achievement in the girls' platform event.
And Webb closed the first day with a gold medal, alongside Luton Diving's Amy Rollinson, in the synchronised platform event.
On the second day, Webb opened her competition with a silver medal in the girls' 3m event, and added a second gold to her collection in the 1m synchronised competition, again alongside Rollinson, to take her personal haul to five medals.
Catherine Lopez narrowly missed out on a medal in the girls' 1m springboard event, but moved up the rankings in the girls' platform event to take a bronze medal.
There was also multiple medal joy for Elora Graham.
She produced a fine set of consistent dives to secure a silver medal in the women's 1m event on the first day.
Graham added to that on day two, taking bronze in the women's 3m competition.
And she completed her competition with silver in the 1m synchronised event with Luton Diving's Katie Burton.
Albie Vaughan narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth in the boys' 1m event, just two points off third place.
The results meant that Cambridge Dive Team finished in third place in the regional club rankings, only behind Southend and Luton, who both have 10-metre diving board facilities.
Cambridge Dive Team head coach Aaron Paul said:"I'm delighted that Cambridge Dive Team has made such a strong impact showing they are ready for another year of competitive diving."
