Cantabrigian Rowing Club duo have success at Norfolk Sculls

Georgie Plunkett and Jimmy Adams were the two rowers to beat at the Norfolk Sculls event.

Cantabrigian Rowing Club member Plunkett was the fastest women’s sculler over the ‘long’ course, clocking 19min 59sec to finish 28 seconds ahead of the second-placed sculler from Sudbury Rowing Club.

Clubmate Adams was the fastest men’s single sculler over the ‘long’ course, timing 17.54, to be more than a minute quicker than the second-placed finisher.

Adams and Plunkett will next be in action in the Scullers Head of the River Race on the Thames in London on December 2.

Cantabs’ Anita Holender and Eve Beere attended the prize-giving event for the Pairs Head of the River, after their success in the women’s intermediate pairs event.

They had finished in 15.52, 13 seconds clear of second, and were presented with their prize by Rio Olympics gold medallist and former Cambridge University president George Nash.
