Mixed set of results for Cantabs

Cantabrigian Rowing Club enjoyed a mixed set of results at Wallingford Regatta.

In the first race of the summer regatta season for club crews, Cantabs’ senior women’s eight won their heat by clear water but the final was cancelled because of the bad weather conditions.

It meant that the prize was automatically awarded to the fastest crew in the heats, and that was the first heat.

Millie Perrin, Bailee Stratton, Jordan Bruce, Georgia Vann and cox Esther Momcilovic were third in the women’s club coxed fours, one second behind second place.

James King, Jonah Harris, Finn Grimwood, Guy Fiddian, Tom Chess, Andrew Marsden, Hadi Boukhatmi, Sean Collins and cox Sara Russo were 10th out of 24 in the men’s eights.

Georgie Plunkett won the women’s club singles in style.

The lightweight was in an openweight event but finished 13 seconds clear of the second-placed sculler.
