Cambridge City lose Aaron Greene to red card and ship two goals without reply during defeat to Felixstowe & Walton United.

Cambridge City suffered a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Felixstowe & Walton United last night.

The hosting Lilywhites created a number of chances – particularly during the opening 45 minutes – but it was the clinical visitors that headed back over the Suffolk border with all three Isthmian League North Division points in tow thanks to goals scored late in either half.

The Seasiders broke the deadlock in the 45th minute when Sam Ford turned in the rebound after Charlie Warren’s effort had been kept out by City goalkeeper Tom Middlehurst.

With 15 minutes remaining playmaker Aaron Greene was red carded for City and Felixstowe went on to make their numerical advantage count in the 80th minute courtesy of Warren, who pounced on a loose ball to score from close range.

After the match 13th-placed City announced the signing of left-back Harry Hurst after he had been an unused substitute in the contest.

The 19-year-old has arrived from lower-league Soham Town Rangers, having previously been on the books of Peterborough United and Aldershot Town.

City’s focus will now switch to the first round of the FA Trophy on Saturday (26 October) when they play host to Step 3 outfit Royston Town.
