Shelford Rugby Club run in five tries during Regional 1 South East victory over Old Northamptonians

Louie Tang scored a hat-trick as Shelford ran out 44-30 winners during their Regional 1 South East encounter against Old Northamptonians.

The hosting Peacocks headed into the encounter at The Davey Field on Saturday on the back of a convincing defeat at the hands of Letchworth Garden City last time out.

However, they bounced back in style with a five-try performance that was spearheaded by Tang.

Lewis Cracknell was also in good form with the boot and it was he who broke the deadlock with a fifth-minute penalty. Cracknell also converted Shelford’s first four tries, two of which were scored by Tang, while Michael Gillick and Alex Johnson also got in on the act.

Tang went on to round off the try scoring in the 73rd minute, with Tomos James doing the honours with the conversion.

Shelford head to Westcliff on Saturday (November 18).
