Hat-tricks for Lauren Brown and Kendra Seed as Cambridge South beat Newmarket

By CambridgeIndependent Reporter

Season's top scorer decided in win

Lauren Brown and Kendra Seed signed off for the season with hat-tricks as Cambridge South II won 9-0 against Newmarket III in East Women’s League, Division 4NW (S).

After the original match was abandoned at half time because of injuries, South concluded an encouraging campaign with a comprehensive win.

The two top scorers were tied on 25 goals apiece going into the game, but super-sweeper Seed took the honours with a hat-trick as nearest rival Izzy MacDonald-Parry scored twice.

Brown added three and Eimear Lee got one.

South’s mixed team had their final game of the season, and they beat St Ives 2-0.

Keeper Jason Mann produced a man-of-the-match performance, while a good passing move saw Andy Thomas score in the first half, and Colin Troll got the second through a penalty stroke after the break.
