Cambridge ‘99 Rowing Club hosts annual Cambridge Autumn Regatta on the River Cam
It was yet another action-packed Cambridge Autumn Regatta on the River Cam on Sunday.
The annual meeting, which is hosted by Cambridge ‘99 Rowing Club, featured more than 60 events and attracted in excess of 200 rowers from across the country.
And there was plenty of reason to celebrate for the local clubs – Cantabrigian Rowing Club being chief among them.
Cantabs crews chalked up a total of six victories across a blisteringly hot day, including in the CRA Masters Eights, CRA Women’s Eights, Open Quads and the Women’s Junior 15 Quads.
Elsewhere, Addenbrooke’s (Baddies) got the better of City of Cambridge Rowing Club (Tweenies) in the CRA Mixed Eight, while Pembroke College triumphed over Peterborough City Rowing Club in the Open Coxed Fours.
Isle of Ely recorded victories in both the Women’s Coxed Quads and Women’s Masters C/E Coxed Quads, Jesus College saw off St Neots Rowing Club by four lengths in the Women’s Double Sculls (Band 2) and it was City of Cambridge’s Seb Matthews that did the business in the Open Sculls (Band 1).
Peterborough City were the dominant force, though, with 19 wins.
