Histon secured a 3-0 victory at Canvey Island in BetVictor Isthmian League, North Division.

The Stutes were looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat to Cambridge City in the Cambs Invitation Cup, and handed a senior league debut to 16-year-old Ben Landshoff.

They made the perfect start, going ahead in the 19th minute from the penalty spot through Max York.

Three minutes later, George Coy slid in Simon Swinton, who fired in from the edge of the area.

The third goal came at the start of the second half. Buster Harradine broke down the left and squared for Dan Brown, who turned neatly to smash home his 13th goal of the season.

The win was made even more impressive given the absence of suspended duo Ed Rolph and Pat Bexfield, and Danny Gould, who was suffering with illness.

Histon are now up to eighth in a congested table, just five adrift of leaders Bury Town, who are the visitors to Bridge Road this Saturday (December 7).
