Victory over Saffron Walden sees landmark passed

Four different scorers helped Histon wrap up their Thurlow Nunn League, Premier Division campaign with a 4-0 win over Saffron Walden Town.

It was the perfect start at the Glass World Stadium as Ed Rolph stooped low to head home from close range in the second minute.

In the second half, defender Rob Ruddy got his first goal for the club and it was 3-0 when Dan Brown finished off a good run into the box.

Sheldon Weinman scored Histon’s 100th league goal this season with a well-placed header to make it 4-0.

The victory meant that Histon completed their first season back in the Eastern Counties League in sixth place.
