Histon announce tie-up with Premier League Norwich City's Regional Development Programme
Histon have announced a partnership with Norwich City Regional Development Programme (RDP).
It is aimed at providing opportunities for young and aspiring footballers and coaches in the region, including the launch of a player pathway to support Histon and the Eastern Junior Alliance (EJA) squads.
The RDP will support the development and management of Histon’s under-13 EJA squad for the 2019/20 season to provide a further pathway for players identified through the region’s player development and elite player development pathway.
Each year, further age groups will be added to ensure continuity and progression throughout both programmes. There are also plans to work closely together on community opportunities.
Histon chairman John Hall said: “We’re delighted to be able to partner with the Norwich City RDP for what is an exciting step forward for the club and our youth development pathway here at Histon FC.
“We hope that with their help and expertise we can offer a top class coaching and educational pathway for young players to progress their footballing careers.”
Alex Kaufman, Norwich City RDP’s managing director, said: “Histon FC has always had a
special history of producing footballers that have gone on to achieve success at
various levels of the game.
“Importantly it has helped to progress them as people off the pitch too. This matches our ethos at Norwich City FC RDP where there is a huge focus on youth and community. “Together, through this opportunity, we want to create a positive experience where local boys learn and develop in a competitive environment and can find a pathway that suits their ultimate needs.”
