Histon have moved off the bottom of the Pitching In Northern Premier League, Midlands Division table after a rousing 4-3 win at Loughborough Dynamo.

It did not get off to the best of starts as Courey Grantham and Kevin Da Silva Bastos put the hosts 2-0 up after 14 minutes.

Histon pulled one back in the 29th minute, with Ed Rolph tapping in after Luke Lindsay’s run and cross.

A minute later, they were back on level terms as Rolph fired a low shot across the keeper into the far corner.

The Stutes had the lead on the hour mark when Finley Wilkinson picked up possession around halfway, and swapped passes with Rolph before applying a cool finish.

Loughborough made it 3-3 through Da Silva Bastos from a corner in the 63rd minute.

After Da Silva Bastos was sent off for receiving a second yellow card, Lindsay combined with Rolph to seal Histon’s win in the 87th minute.

The result sees the Stutes move above Soham in the table.

Histon host Sporting Khalsa this Saturday (December 4).
