Histon to host Cambridge City’s conquerors Mulbarton Wanderers in first qualifying round of FA Cup

Histon’s reward for Saturday’s thumping victory in the FA Cup is another home tie in the first round qualifying.

Chris Nunn’s men racked up the goals at Bridge Road at the weekend, running out 5-2 winners over Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Woodbridge Town to book their place in this afternoon’s draw.

And the Stutes will now face another Eastern Counties top flight outfit next time out in the form of Mulbarton Wanderers.

The Norfolk side will travel to Histon on 30 August having knocked out higher-level Cambridge City at the weekend.

A goal in either half saw Mulbarton run out 2-0 winners over the Lilywhites, who have now lost their last three matches in a row in all competitions.

For Histon, this will be their first appearance in the first round qualifying since 2019/20, while it is nine years since they advanced beyond this stage of the tournament.
