Cantabrigian club's senior women's squad members win Pairs Head of the River race

Anita Holender and Eve Beere won the women's intermediate event at the Pairs Head of the River on the Tideway.

The Cantabrigian club's senior women's squad members were 13 seconds clear of a crew from the City of Bristol club in a fine performance on the challenging waters of the tidal Thames.

However, Gill Cooper and Judith Weik were denied victory in the women's masters CD pairs when they were impeded by slower crews racing ahead of them which impacted on their time.

They had to settle for runners-up spot again.

Cantabs also entered two women's doubles, with Ellie Darlington and Bailee Stratton third in the women's intermediate 2x event, and Georgia Vann and Emma Dalrymple finishing fifth in a very strong lightweight competition.

Andrew Morley and Nicola Pearson finished third in the mixed masters BC doubles event, with Cantabs' men's pairs fifth in the club 2- event and 10th in the intermediate 2- event.
