Intelligent Membranes become headline sponsors of Cambridge United Women

Intelligent Membranes have become the first headline sponsors of Cambridge United Women.

At a launch event at the Abbey last week, it was announced that the family-run business will have their logo on the shirts of all the U’s girls and women’s teams, and the wider partnership will support the infrastructure of the women’s set up.

Adam White, the founder and MD of Intelligent Membranes, said: “Through sponsoring the U’s over the last couple of years, we have witnessed first-hand what a forward thinking, friendly and progressive club Cambridge United truly is.

“Their commitment to the women’s game is outstanding and we wanted to be a part of that by partnering with CUWFC. I have a young family and to be able to bring them to a club that promotes diversity and inclusion is really important.

“Given the huge success this summer of the Lionesses and the rapid popularity of the women’s game across the country, we’re thrilled to be associated with Cambridge United’s women’s set-up at such an exciting time.

“We are looking forward to the new season and attending both the men’s and women’s fixtures.”

Jenny Horsfield, who chairs Cambridge United’s new women’s football board, said: “I totally believe this is going to be the pivotal moment for the women’s game. I really believe we can help develop and inspire the future generations.

“The women’s game has grown so much over the last few years. I’m really happy to be part of a club that has got ambitions and is making sure there is a pathway all the way through.

“We’re attracting new players to strengthen the squad, we’re improving our facilities. Hopefully we can attract more females and girls to come and watch us.

“Wouldn’t it be amazing if in a few years’ time we could create a new Lionness?”
