Jack Vasey header earns Cambridge City draw with Moneyfields

By CambridgeIndependent Reporter

Lilywhites hold league leaders

Jack Vasey got off the mark for Cambridge City as they held leaders Moneyfields to a 1-1 draw in Evo-Stik League, South East Division.

The Lilywhites were bidding to bounce back from their 2-0 home defeat to AFC Dunstable, but knew it would be tough against an unbeaten Moneyfields side.

The match got off to the worst possible start for City as the ball fell to Jamie White to fire in for Moneyfields after only four minutes.

But City grew into the game and created a number of chances before drawing level in the 30th minute.

Vasey, who made his debut against Dunstable after joining on loan from Royston Town, made no mistake with a header after being picked out at the back post by Jordan Gent.

And with neither side unable to break the deadlock, the teams had to settle for a point apiece.

City are away to Aylesbury United this Saturday (December 2).
