Jack Wilkinson and Jordan Gent make Cambridge City exit
Lilywhites lose on the road
Jack Wilkinson and Jordan Gent have both left Cambridge City.
Left-back Wilkinson joined City in the summer, and made 14 appearances but was released after appearing in the Cambs Invitation Cup defeat to Soham Town Rangers last week.
Gent switched to the Lilywhites from Soham in December 2016, but his appearances have been restricted in recent times and he has left to join Biggleswade Town.
City boss Robbie Nightingale said: “Jordy has been a fantastic player over the past two years, winning the player of the year award in his first six months at the club which shows how important he was to City.
“He has put in some excellent performances notably the play-off semi-final at Hayes and Yeading. We will miss Jordan at the club but wish him every success for the future”.
Nightigale added: “Jordan moving on gives Adam Capel a great opportunity. He had a superb game last week scoring the winning goal and putting in a man-of-the-match performance.”
City lost 1-0 to a last-minute Berkhamsted goal in Evo-Stik League South, Division One Central last Saturday.
They are away to Kidlington this Saturday (November 24).
