James Carman and Dan McGinty make Histon switch
Duo arrive from Sawston United
James Carman and Dan McGinty have arrived to try to boost Histon’s efforts to beat the drop.
The duo have come in from Sawston United, and made their debut in the 4-1 defeat to Ashford in the Evo-Stik League Southern, Premier Division, with Carman scoring from the spot.
“I knew both of them as Dan had played at Cottenham when I had been around the area and I knew James as he had trained with us occasionally,” said Histon manager Lance Key.
“They both did well in training and so I thought ‘why not’. I always said that step seven, in the Kershaw League would be where I tried to hunt some players down.
“When they are here, you think we will give them a chance as they’re keen and local lads and may not have played at this level but have played 200-odd games so they have the games under their belt.”
He added: “We’re trying to get another in hopefully. And after this week we have a full squad back, bar a few injuries.”
