Lilywhites make it three wins out of four

Cambridge City’s stop-start 2018 continued in good fashion as they earned a 2-1 win at Egham Town in Evo-Stik League, South East Division last Saturday.

They have so far only played four matches this year but won three, although they had another game postponed on Monday night, against Cambridge United Development in the Cambridgeshire Invitation Cup.

The Lilywhites broke the deadlock at Egham in the 29th minute, when Salim Relizani lifted a corner back into the area for James Hall to turn home.

Three minutes later, from another corner, Jordan Gent powered in a header for his fifth goal of the season.

Egham reduced the arrears with a goal just after the hour, but City were able to hold the hosts comfortably at bay to seal the three points.

City are due to be at home to Hayes & Yeading United this Saturday (February 17).
