Josh Arksey produces five-star show for Burwell & Exning
Bowlers efforts reap rewards against Bury St Edmunds
Josh Arksey spun Burwell & Exning to guaranteed safety with a 121-run win over Bury St Edmunds in Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League.
Andrew Bramley was left just short of a century as he made 93 off 84 balls, and Jamie Seabrook hit an unbeaten 51, off 37, as Burwell & Exning’s innings finished on 250 for 6.
Slow left arm orthodox Arksey struck regularly throughout as the visitors chased the target, finishing with five for 22 as Bury St Edmunds were all out for 129.
With only one game of the season remaining, although they were all but safe, the victory ensures that Burwell & Exning cannot be caught by the teams beneath them in the table.
Burwell & Exning will now be aiming to finish the campaign in the top six, by securing a win at home to Copdock & Old Ipswichian, who currently occupy sixth.
