Josh Oyinsan’s third hat-trick of the season helped Cambridge to their first home win in three months and made it four matches unbeaten with a 6-1 success over North Leigh in Evo-Stik League South, Division One Central.

After only a minute, Joel Gyasi finished off from close range to put City ahead and, seven minutes later, Oyinsan scored his first goal..

It was 3-0 after 17 minutes as Nathan Olukanmi got in behind the defence and crossed for Ollie Thorne to score on his debut, having joined from Bedford.

Oyinsan bent a free kick round the wall to make it 4-0 after 22 minutes.

The striker completed his treble from close range after 39 minutes.

North Leigh got the next goal, in the second half, with Henry Landers beating his marker to smash home.

The game finished as it started with another goal from Gyasi, who turned the ball home in the 85th minute after Matty Baxter’s shot had been blocked.

City have added winger Toby Adekunle to their squad.

The former QPR academy player joins from AFC Totton, having also been with Scholing and Basingstoke.

He is available for their home game with AFC Dunstable this Saturday, (February 16).
